Both the exhibition floor and the convention floor can be used
continuously as a single volume of space for the length of 215 meters or can be

divided and used as 4 independent units. This offers flexibility in use.

2.2.4.2. Planning

As a singular structure of 215m length, the new extension block has a

singular entry point, with three doorways. This leads to a large lobby as seen

in Figure 17, that then splits two ways – to the right and left- to access the
exhibition halls. The lobby also has elevator and escalators to access the floor

above. Unlike the exhibition halls in the first phase of the Chennai Trade

Centre, this extension has the ticketing and registration counters housed
within the lobby area.
