2.3. Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, Chennai

2.3.1. Background
One of Chennai’s largest and most well-equipped auditorium spaces is

the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall (Figure 21), at Harrington

Road, Chetpet. Located within the campus of the Lady Andal School, it was
built in February 2008 to promote and support cultural arts, both Indian and

International (Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall , n.d.). The

auditorium has around 1200 seats across a ground floor and balcony, a stage
area of around 1920 sq. ft, and optimally uses beneath stage spaces for art

schools, dance classes and lounges.
