2.4 Rationale for Redevelopment
With its historical significance and potential as a leading conservation entity,
Vandalur Zoo is uniquely positioned to set precedents for modern zoo practices in
India. The proposal to introduce an Experience Center and redesign outdated
facilities is driven by the need to align the zoo with global standards in animal
welfare and visitor engagement.
2.5 Project Goals
The specific goals of the project are designed to ensure the zoo's transformation into
a leader in ethical wildlife conservation. These goals include:
