with triangular glazing on the western side symbolizes abstracted muqarnas. Inspired by
muqarnas, triangulated ceiling panels improve acoustics as well as lighting. The mosque's
spiritual atmosphere is further enhanced on the ground floor by tastefully crafted small
windows that display several layers of abstracted Arabic calligraphy that features passages
from the Quran. The KAFD Grand Mosque is a contemporary haven that skillfully
combines architectural innovation with significant religious and cultural significance.
