The project deftly handles how the natural and man-made worlds interact. Naturally
occurring stone steps(fig.22) that follow the natural contours of the site contrast with a thin
slab of reinforced concrete that extends over six metres to form the canopy. The Sancaklar
Mosque stands as a tribute to creative and careful design in the field of religious spaces
because of its purposeful duality, which elevates both the architectural and spiritual
experience.
