Topic Title: Urban Entertainment Center
Supervisor: Prof. Meenakshi Pappu
Synopsis
Today, people often live in small places with limited entertainment options or unfriendly
environments. The entertainment hub is typically a neighborhood mall, park, or entertainment center,
but today, consumers expect malls and shopping centers to offer not only goods but also
entertainment and fun. Urban Entertainment Centers (UEC) are family-oriented entertainment
destinations that integrate shopping, recreation, and entertainment to create a complete experience.
A UEC must be designed as a place with the correct mix of shopping and leisure, typically requiring
a site area of 10-50 acres. In Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, a rapidly growing city known as the textile
capital of South India, there is a lack of better entertainment and shopping facilities for the people.
Most cities in Tamil Nadu have reasonable shopping and entertainment facilities, but there is not an
integrated area where visitors can experience both retail and entertainment activities. The proposed
project will be located in Coimbatore, with excellent connectivity to all means of transport. The
project aims to create an urban entertainment center for families or groups, combining entertainment
and retail space, enhancing the relationship between commercial and recreational areas, fostering
user movement, and making the space lively and interactive.
