(MGU) and designated it as Recreation and Tourism Development Zone (RTDZ). The
Government of Maharashtra later designated the MGU area as an "RTDZ" and, in
accordance with Section 40 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act 1966,
appointed MMRDA as the Special Planning Authority for the region. This initiative aims to
transform the area into a vibrant tourism hub with world-class amenities and attractions.
The RTDZ proposal includes plans for water sports facilities, theme parks, adventure
activities, and cultural experiences to cater to diverse interests. Additionally, the

devel-opment of infrastructure such as hotels, restaurants, and transportation links will
ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for visitors. A development plan report was
pub-lished by the MMRDA regarding the Manori-Gorai-Uttan Notified area where the area
encompasses a total area of 43.13 square kilometres and comprises 8 villages. Among these,
Manori and Gorai fall under the administrative jurisdiction of the Municipal Cor-poration of
Greater Mumbai (MCGM). The MGU Notified Area includes 8 villages, including Manori
and Gorai, covering an area of approximately 19.52 square kilometres.

These villages are also under the administrative authority of the Municipal Corporation of
Greater Mumbai (MCGM). The M-G-U region is home to various recreation facilities, as
detailed in the "Develop-ment Control Regulations-2012 for Manori-Gorai-Uttan Notified
Area" by MMRDA. Visitors can enjoy water sports, theme parks, and adventure parks.
Sunset viewpoints offer beautiful scenery, while trekking trails provide nature exploration.
