innovation with its minimalist design, cutting-edge technology, and a focus on
fostering creativity. This report examines the impact of T-Works on the urban
neighbourhood of Hyderabad, assessing its architectural significance, materiality,
social impact, spatial organisation, and the broader implications for the city's
development.
2.3.1 Architectural Significance and Design Features
2.3.1.1 Form and Function
T-Works' architectural design is characterised by a minimalist approach,
focusing on simplicity and functionality. The translucent building envelope made of
polycarbonate is a standout feature, allowing efficient use of diffused light without
causing glare. The three-acre campus includes a vast urban plaza, creating a focal
point for creative discourse. The central triple-height atrium promotes collaboration,
establishing T-Works as a dynamic maker-space for inventions and innovations.
The design philosophy, as articulated by Diwakar Chintala, emphasises creating an
environment conducive to innovation and experimentation. The BIM technology
utilised from concept to completion ensures a seamless integration of design
elements, optimising spatial functionality and enhancing the user experience.
2.3.1.2 Materiality and Environmental Considerations
T-Works' architectural journey incorporates advanced technologies and carefully
chosen materials. The use of polycarbonate for the building envelope facilitates
efficient diffusion of light and adds elegance. Polyurethane Foam (PUF) panels for
the facade provide structural integrity and aesthetic appeal, while cast-in-place
concrete reinforces the architectural grandeur. This thoughtful selection of materials
ensures a harmonious blend with the surrounding landscape and aligns with the
