The architects decided on four design considerations right away:
                         • To design an architectural edifice that is unmistakably connected to the museum function
                            and represents the type of exhibitions that are on view;

                         • To design a contemporary shape that will draw tourists and aviation enthusiasts and serve
                            as an emblem for the Polish Aviation Museum amid Krakow's current cultural

                            environment;
                         •  To use a functional layout that is efficient and logical;

                         • That despite its size, the facility wouldn't dominate the nearby buildings and would have
                            enough open space to provide a "soft transition" between the developed region and the
                            park's green space, the Aircraft Cultural Park.

                     In order to match the dimensions of a historic hangar from 1929 that is situated in the middle of
                     the Museum grounds, a square base for the design was chosen.
                     The main building's three wings were designed to form patios that opened up in three directions:
                     towards the future Aviation Park, the existing buildings, and the existing facilities. The square,
                     62.5 x 62.5 m concrete platform served as the base for these wings, and its transparency allowed
                     different elements of the surrounding environment to "see" each other.
