Because of their small size and limited space, art museum exhibits are typically wall-hung or
placed on the deck of a platform. In contrast, aviation museums typically house large collections
of artifacts that call for larger rooms. Additionally, the roof structure of these museums is
typically made of truss because of its enormous span and load-bearing capacity. The way the
artifacts are positioned differently provides us with a clear picture of how the visitor and exhibit
                     interact.
Aviation museums may choose to fly some of their aircraft or solely show them on the ground.
Museums that choose not to fly their aircraft may have done so because they are too valuable or
uncommon, or because the aircraft are not in flying condition. Museums that accept the risk
associated with flying their aircraft are allowed to utilize them in Mr. Shows and other aviation-
                     related events.
