2.2.15. Ventilation
2.2.15.1. Mechanical Ventilation
Where mechanical means are used for ventilation, there should be cross ventilation
and the air exchange rate should have a minimum of 15 air changes per hour.

The exhaust air should be discharged to the exterior of the building at a position at
least 2 m above the pavement level and at least 5 m from any window or fresh air intake.
2.2.15.2. Natural Ventilation
• Appropriate fresh air intake grilles must be installed for natural ventilation in order to
guarantee five air changes per hour.
• Some nice toilet materials include:
• Floor: Terrazzo, uniform tiles, natural stone, and non-slip ceramic tiles.
• Wall: Glass block, aluminum panels, phenolic cladding, stainless steel, enameled steel
panels, ceramic tiles, natural stone, and homogenous tiles.
• Ceiling: Mineral fiberboard, plaster board with fibers, aluminum strips or panels
