4. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
4.1 Significance of the Location
The architectural design of Aviary 1 (Sky Sanctuary) and Aviary 2 (Feathered Oasis)
incorporates a sophisticated tensile structure system, inspired by renowned
constructions such as the Antwerp Aviary, Aviary Wilhelma Stuttgart, and Aviary
Hellabrunn. These systems are known for their durability, minimal maintenance
requirements, and ability to create expansive, unobstructed spaces conducive to
avian habitats.
4.1.1 Mast Construction
Constructed from high-grade steel, the masts are engineered to heights between 10.5
meters and 18.5 meters. They are deeply anchored into massive concrete footings
that are calculated to withstand not just the vertical forces due to the weight of the
structure and its inhabitants, but also lateral forces caused by wind and weather
changes.
4.1.2 Cable and Mesh Configuration
The primary support comes from 6mm diameter steel cables, known for their
strength and flexibility. A secondary network of 3mm diameter cables supports the
primary load-bearing cables. This dual-cable configuration mirrors the successful
