Initially built for 50 people, is a place of central hub where the community have interactive
sessions as well as place of discussion of rules and regulations. The building is also known
for various interesting public spaces to sit be in. The public had been visited by the author
during the period of his internship and many visual aspects pertaining to how a communal
building works had been thoroughly scrutinized and understood.

This building caters for a population 2500 aurovillians and ensures enough space and
lighting for storage and display of books as well as reading them as well. The different
usage of materials for more aerated feel has made this an interesting place to be in. The
library also ensures spaces for public interaction and relaxation, making it an interesting
space to be in. The library also acts as one of the essential educational point in the region,
making it a valuable asset for Auroville.
