Tête-à-tête

TECH CHAT WITH DIRECTOR - INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

International Relations (IR) office facilitates meaningful
learning through inter-disciplinary and trans-national teaching
programs. International Transfer programs (ITP) provide an
opportunity for students to spend part of their studies at VIT and
transfer their credits to a foreign university and complete their
degrees. The internship opportunities for the summer and even for
a semester give one a better exposure to trans-national teaching
pedagogy and programs. There is a lot of scope for manufacturing
and research at the International job market. In fact, MS from a
foreign University is an added boon. Communication and language
skills, positive social behaviours, self-management, and self-
initiations are required for students to be a global citizen. There
are regular mobility program in the form of Semester Abroad
           during their course of study.

The Semester Abroad Program, gives the benefits of
providing an opportunity to experience a different teaching style, Dr. C. Vijayakumar
networking, learn about new cultures, develop confidence, and Director – International Relations
discover better study and career opportunities. Student mobility is (IR), VIT.
encouraged through internship- scholarship schemes like Mitacs,
Erasmus, Effri, Charpak, etc. In addition to these, IR has
operationalized an International Transfer program exclusive for
Mechanical students in Manufacturing with the University of West.

Following on this vein, SMEC is proud to say that this is now a reality.
