they could also be internally connected and made as a continuous space. The

convention hall on the other hand had the facility to be split in two along the

middle and be used as two separate halls.

All 3 exhibition halls, have a singular entry and exit point to maintain
continuity in the flow of exhibits. With many small-scale exhibitions stands

aligned together, the corridors felt narrow, as seen in Figure 10. Where there

were larger exhibition stands, the corridors felt a little free for movement.
Enough exit points were provided in case of emergencies for the public to

access the immediate outdoors. The registration counters and ticket counters

are located outside the main halls within temporary structures- making it

difficult for visitors with long queues without a shaded covering. Figure 11
indicates the long narrow internal corridors, open registration counters and

multiple exit points at the Chennai Trade Centre.

The convention hall, adjacent to the exhibition halls, is a more recent
structure. It has a deep shaded drop off area with a large volume of internal

lounge space for visitor access. One drawback is that the entrance to the main

halls within, is within immediate reach along the left corridors, and is a longer
walkable distance along the right corridor. This is seen in Figure 12 and is a

result of a one-sided access to the convention hall. The convention hall has

private access for VIPs with additional VIP lounges, that are not available in
                     the exhibition halls.
