"Designing the future of cruise terminals is not merely about creating
structures; it's about crafting gateways to unforgettable journeys, where
innovation meets elegance, and sustainability intertwines with seamless

                     1.1 Objective
                      Thesis Report V-SPARC VIT
The main objective of this thesis is to demonstrate the usage of the existing environment of
cruise travel and also connect the spaces where the existing usage of the spaces and
reimagining the space with the conceptual surroundings and creating a futuristic space that
deals with sustainability and other facilities.
                     1. Bridging the gap between the present and futuristic design.
                     2. Encouraging tourism and restoring the existing terminal designs to an upgraded
                         version.
                     3. Investigating the quantity, quality, and characteristic features of the surrounding and
                         the context.

                     1.2 Motivation
Embarking on the journey of my thesis cruise terminal project, the main motivation is fueled
by a passion for redefining the landscape of maritime travel. With every blueprint drawn,
and every concept envisioned, I am driven by the prospect of shaping not just physical
structures, but the very essence of connectivity, sustainability, and awe-inspiring
                  experiences.

                     1.3 Background
The International Cruise Terminal in Mumbai is an established cruise terminal that lacks the
necessary amenities to handle huge passenger volumes and ground workers, making it
impossible for multiple cruise ships to dock simultaneously.
The Mumbai Port Authority is now working on a project to extend the facility to
accommodate future needs, which will provide better, globally compliant solutions.

                         2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND GOALS

Cruise terminals are more than just places to board a ship; they are the starting points of
incredible journeys where passengers set off to discover far-off places and make lifelong
memories. These lively centers of activity unite individuals from many cultural backgrounds

as boats of discovery and connectivity."

2.2 Introduction to the thesis project
The project is developed from the interest in the port study and usage of the logistics in the
port to the architectural design and using those as the functional and architectural design
where the project is the major tourist attraction and public involvement through bridging the
gap of the spaces with security and attraction at the same time.
