5.2. Architectural Concept and Narrative Expression
The architectural concept translates the narrative of war into a physical and experiential
journey for visitors. The Shards, initially conceived as a monolithic block, are strategically
fragmented into nine distinct exhibition spaces, each representing a stage of war:
Rumination, Escalation, Catalyst, Engagement, Turning Point, Ceasefire, Reflection, and
Memory.

These exhibition spaces are interconnected by a choreographed circulation path that guides
visitors through the unfolding narrative of conflict, immersing them in the various emotional
and psychological states associated with each stage.
