Synopsis
As the hospitality industry continues to evolve, the importance of preserving architectural heritage
elements in hotel design has never been greater. This abstract examines the integration of historical
elements into modern hotel architecture, highlighting the symbiotic relationship of preservation and
innovation. Drawing on a case study on a hotel renovation project, we explore the difficulties,
strategies, and results of including architectural heritage elements in the design process. Identifying
and evaluating heritage significance, balancing preservation and gaining the knowledge of where it
is been used and how to reuse the same design typology in today’s current typology, engaging the
community, and to indulge in the cultural practices and environment that were followed all those
days and heritage are all important topics. The case study shows how to interpret and reuse
architectural heritage in hospitality through a multi-disciplinary approach involving architects,
historians, preservers, and stakeholders. Hotels that embrace the character and stories of historic
buildings can create an immersive guest experience while preserving cultural heritage for generations
to come.
