PROGRAMS ORGANIZED
An International Training programme on “Linking Experiments with CFD and “Numerical Methods to solve the MechnoVIT
Navier-Stokes equations”on 09-08-2022. Dr. Pavlos Zachos, Cranfield University, Dr. Manel Soria Guerrero,
Polytechnic University of Catalunya were the experts.

successfully organized a
48-hour Six Sigma Green
Belt – Training & Certification
Programme. This is the VIII
batch of certification program MechnoVIT
organized by him and for the
first time in SMEC.
54 Participants were shortlisted for this
program. Participants were trained in the
areas relating to Shop floor problem solving
- Reducing the rejection percentage and Process
Optimization targeting Time / Cost savings. They were also trained to identify the root causes of the
chosen problem using Shinin's DoE tools. These participants were further taken to M/s Amara Raja
Batteries in Chittoor for practical training as a part of the certification program. During the industry visit,
all the participants were offered an opportunity to observe the ongoing Six Sigma implementation MechnoVIT
projects, which helped them to appreciate the usefulness of Shainin's DoE tools for process improvement.
SMEC organized a Five - day
International Guest Lecture
Series on “Advanced
Manufacturing”. The lead
speaker of the guest lecture
series was Dr. Supriyo
Ganguly, Reader, Welding and MechnoVIT
Additive Manufacturing
Science, Cranfield University,
UK.
