ALUMNI CORNER

Decade back, I was sitting in corner of the class room
with a shy mind and behaviour. But due to diversified culture and fast
learning environment of VIT, I am here today, allowed me to write a
message to my next VIT generation. From the beginning, it was clear to
all of us that what we needed most was the ability to solve problems in
the real world. And undoubtedly, the fully flexible credit system (FFCS)
was a gift to achieve this goal.
I remember that 2012-2016 was a time when traditional mechanical
engineering took a back seat. It was a time when skills like
programming and algorithms were crucial. The FFCS enabled us to
take such courses from different disciplines and further our skills! It
is also worth mentioning the support the university gave us outside
the classroom. The power of VIT campus experience is a testament
to the nurturing, inspiring, and empowering atmosphere of VIT Mr. SENAPATHI MAHESH
University of course, The heart of any college environment lies in its (12BME0013)
faculty members. I was fortunate to be guided by professors who
not only possessed profound knowledge in their respective fields Engineer- Production System
but were also passionate about teaching and Research, their lectures WKW Roof Rail GmbH ,
and even common interactions helped enhance my perception of Germany
looking at complex subjects or even situations.
My suggestion all my fellow VITian's is come out, participate and explore every aspect of VIT such that,
when some one asks you what have you done during college days, you should never run out of stories.

                                       VOICE OF STAKE HOLDERS

My last three years at SMEC have been the most vibrant and incredible of my
life. I've always been interested in aviation, and when I decided to concentrate
in Mechanical Engineering, I never imagined I'd be able to pursue that dream.
However, after joining, I learned about the different student teams available at
SMEC and opted to join the Assailing Falcons, an Advanced level aero-design
team. And that was the start of a whole new adventure!
By the end of my second year, I had not only contributed to the
development of a full-scale R/C aircraft system, but I had also
represented the institute in an international competition. Halfway
through my third year, I was given the opportunity to participate in Ms. Jessica Kartha (20BME0082)
a Semester Abroad Program at University West in Sweden. This Student Ambassador
meant that I was exposed to an international educational system Dec 22-Jun 23
and interacted with students from all around the world. Not only Assailing Falcons, Team Captain
did such exposure bring value to my profile, but it also aided my June 22-May 23
overall development, for which I am grateful.
The School of Mechanical Engineering provides numerous opportunities for academic and co-curricular
development. It regularly offers guest lectures and value-added courses and certification campaigns, such as the
Six Sigma Green Belt event conducted in September. I must add that instructors are always welcome to and will
always promote new initiatives and research ideas that allow students to explore subjects of their choice. All of
these experiences have helped me hone my knowledge and skills as a Mechanical Engineer and earn a position
with a reputable firm like Tata Motors. SMEC has a particular place in my heart because it has provided me with a
vast vista to further my profession. I will be eternally grateful to the School and my Professors.
