1. Synopsis

This Study analyses the global forms of Islamic architecture's contemporization of

religious structures in great detail. Globalization and interactions with a wide variety of
architectural styles have had a profound impact on the development of Islamic architecture.

These transforming forces have had a profound effect on religious structures throughout the
world. This study aims to clarify the intricate relationship between modern Islamic

architecture, cultural identities, and the maintenance of both utilitarian and aesthetic

2.1 Objective

"The objective of the architectural thesis project, 'Qibla: Canvas of Culture,' is to conceive
and realize an innovative architectural space situated in the vibrant city of Kozhikode,

Kerala. This space will seamlessly amalgamate the sanctity of a mosque with the richness of
an experiential center, thereby serving as a multifaceted platform for cultural exchange,

education, and celebration. The primary aim of the project is to foster cross-cultural

understanding and appreciation by offering visitors an immersive journey through the
diverse heritage, traditions, and contributions of Islamic culture.

Through meticulous design and strategic curation of experiences, the project endeavors to

dismantle misconceptions and stereotypes surrounding Islam, while simultaneously

promoting empathy, tolerance, and respect for cultural diversity. By creating an inclusive
and welcoming environment, the project seeks to provide a neutral ground for interfaith

dialogue and engagement, facilitating meaningful interactions among individuals from
various religious and cultural backgrounds.

Furthermore, the project aims to address the need for spaces that transcend boundaries and
