and environments that combine different media in an efficient manner to
create a truly immersive space for all types of publics.
• The planning of the complex is scattered to give privacy to the individual
blocks.
• Interaction between nature and building blocks is main focus of the design.
3.2.4. About the complex
• This project consists of 7 elements. The first is the Baroque church and the
Monastery, which have been renovated. A new courtyard has been created and
built for the monks: it is built to the ancient schema of a courtyard and is
surrounded by a covered-open corridor.
• The second project element is the open-air liturgical place which has been
reconstructed: new stone paving, new benches, new stone altars, and new
lighting.
• The third element was the total reconstruction of the pilgrim’s house built in
the thirties.
• It holds 25 double-rooms with bathrooms. Next to the monks territory, a
restaurant with a large house-wall has been built: the second storey is a library
for the monks.
