               3.6.  Thesis Statement

                      Create a platform for the local community to teach, learn and showcase their culture

                      and  crafts  to  the  witnessing  public  and  sensitize  them  towards  the  concepts  of
                      Thesis Report V-SPARC VIT
                      “Sustainable Crafts and Tourism” and “Circular Economy” for a sustainable livelihood

                      and economic growth.


               3.7.  Project Typology

                      It  is  a  rural  development  project  with  an  aim  to  enhance  to  cultural  identity  and

                      economic significance by identifying the role of natural resources (Banana Fibre and
                      Water Hyacinth) in the making of local culture and economy.



               3.8.  Users and Stakeholders

                      Local artisanal communities, Tourists, Students, Researchers, Workshop Trainers,
                      Guest artists/artisans/craftsmen.


               3.9.   Assumptions

                      The project is assumed to create a dialogue between the artisanal communities and the

                      visitors/tourists, therefore, preserving the practice of the crafts. Thus, the promotion of

                      these crafts in the public platform plays key role in enhancing the tourism in the region.
