In order to give players the best possible playing conditions and
reduce weather-related disruptions, stadium turf and its drainage systems
are essential. To provide a long-lasting and consistent playing field,
premium artificial turf or real grass pitches are carefully constructed. In
order to effectively divert water away from the playing field, complex
drainage systems made of perforated pipes and layers of sand or gravel are
installed beneath the turf. The rapid removal of extra water from these
drainage systems avoids puddles and waterlogging, which could compromise
player safety and gameplay. Furthermore, the field's slope is precisely
calibrated to promote appropriate water drainage towards specified
collecting locations, guaranteeing that the surface is playable even after
                     significant downpours.
