3 .CASE STUDY (LIVE)



                     The Kerala Arts and Crafts Village (Kovalam, Trivandrum)


                     The Kerala Arts and Crafts Village in Kovalam, Trivandrum, is a public space

                     created by the Kerala government through the Uralungal Labour Contract
                       Thesis Report V-SPARC VIT
                     Co-Operative Society. A landscape master plan and detailed landscape design
                     were created to connect the craft village and function spaces via a carefully

                     constructed circulation path integrated with the landscape. Courtyards,

                     pathways, exhibition spaces, and amphitheaters are designed to engage and

                     entertain visitors through thematically planned environments.

                     This study’s main focus is understanding the program and spatial distribution.


                     About


                     It has been three years since they began, and there are 20 crafts studios where

                     they perform live crafts, as well as four crafts studios that are just for display.
                     Some of the studios are rented and used for show, while the rest are society

                     studios, which train artists and offer studios for them. To generate revenue,

                     they rent out other facilities. This settlement has a total size of 8.5 acres and is
                     divided into two sections: lower and upper. The lower level is mostly centered
