6. DESIGN APPROACH AND DETAILS

                  6.1 Aviary 1 - Sky Sanctuary

                  6.1.1 Conceptual Framework

Drawing inspiration from the Antwerp Aviary, the Sky Sanctuary is segmented into
                       Thesis Report V-SPARC VIT
distinct environments tailored to the specific species they house, providing optimal
conditions for each bird group from raptors to tropical species.

                  6.1.2 Specific Habitat Designs

                     ● Segment 1: Designed for raptors and owls with controlled lighting and higher

                         perch points.

                     ● Segment 2: Features walk-in access for visitors with embedded pathways

slightly below ground level to reduce the barrier between humans and birds.

                     ● Segments 3: Open-air concept for flightless birds, providing a ground-level

experience that mimics their natural habitats

                     ● Segments 4 and 5: Covered with tensile structures and subdivided to cater to

different species, including tropical birds and macaws, with vegetation and
elements specific to each bird’s natural environment.

                  6.2 Aviary 2 - Feathered Oasis

                  6.2.1 Conceptual Framework

Designed for water birds, this aviary integrates water features seamlessly with the
tensile structure to create a naturalistic setting that supports a diverse range of

                  aquatic avian species.
