INDUSTRY EXPERT TALK

How does one balance a work life and keep up with the progresses in the
industry which is important for any engineer in today's world? MechnoVIT
To maintain work life balance, you have to love the work you do or you have
to find the job which gives you extreme satisfaction. Once you love your job,
you have to prioritize the work schedule, set goals for each and every day.
And I say sometimes give a big break to your schedule, take some big
vacation spend time with your loved ones, explore different culture &
tradition of how different people work. Set boundaries between work & life.
Students nowadays spend a lot of time on online courses to better
themselves. What knowledge or skill sets should someone have in today's
world with the advent of industry 4.0?
As you know industry 4.0 is completely into AI, IoT, Networking, Big Data, Mrs. Keerthi Priya
Automation & Robotics. Students should be ready to adapt new Manager, Vigilance
technologies like how they buy their mobile phone and get used to it MechnoVIT
within few hours. Critical thinking, Logical Solving & Decision making is BEML
very important skill set required for industry 4.0. And obviously
innovation, people management are lacking now a days in every domain.
Seeking the wisdom of an industry mentor, leader or long-time professional has tremendous value. What
is the one advice you have for someone new to your industry and what would be the best way to grow in
     an industry like yours?
Best way to grow always is keep learning new skills required for current industry, and I would
recommend students to choose a domain for themselves, explore other domains but keep your profile in
high demand always. Be yourself and focus on details of what you do. Be ready to solve every kind of
problems comes to you. Understand what industry you’re in and develop communication with others to
embrace the changes, be optimistic and be flexible in work place on learning and know your limits and
be bold enough to deny/reject sometimes.

Progress happens in everyone's lives but is slow in some cases. What helped you get where you are in the MechnoVIT
field and how can we as students get ahead in our lives in our fields or career paths?
Be always open minded and ready to accept any type of challenges comes to you. Always never be afraid
of making mistakes and be ready to learn from mistakes what you made, iterate all the possible solutions
of how to make it right next time. Always remember to keep 5 WH questions to yourself, “What am I
doing? Why I’m doing? Where I’m focusing? How will I achieve it? When is the right time to start?”. Treat
everyone you meet nicely & use each and every one as resource to start your career. Always remember
everyone’s path is different, not all are running on same track.

Many students nowadays are misguided or feel lost when it comes to career path and career goals, both
short and long term. Could an expert such as yourself through light on this relating it with your personal
     experience?
When it comes to long term & short-term goal, there are lots of differences. When I finished my high
school, I literally have no idea, what to do? To go for arts or engineering and finally I choose engineering MechnoVIT
with some courage. Once I entered in college, things were completely different to me and didn’t go well
as I planned. I could not perform well. At that time my short-term goal was to complete engineering.
Finally, I completed engineering somehow, but didn’t get placed. And worked in Korean MNC as GET for
            a year, I felt I’m missing my long-term goal, I can’t be settled & satisfied with short-term goals. Then I
was deeply thinking to start pursuing my masters, but again guidance problem, I’ve no one to guide me.
So, I used internet as a tool and searched for each & every possible solution to get into high profile.
Finally, I found my favourite course, which is “styling”. And I joined the course, successfully completed
with university ranking. Then I searched for job in same domain and my long-term goal is completed.
After that I realized, that is also short term and now I’m again looking for long term goal as successful
designer. Working on to, will work always for that. Be clear on what is your short-term & long-term goal
            is first.
VIT has many avenues for students to explore, with access for students to labs, books and a rabbit hole
for us to explore. What is the right path for a student to take to develop useful skills required by an MechnoVIT
     engineer?
I can say the right path or the useful skill set is to read lots of books and learn latest technologies. Also, I
recommend to have good soft skills like communication skills, presentation skill, time management,
leadership etc. Because I believe “How to sell yourself?” is a very important aspect which people are
missing now days. I can see lot of people with high skills are not getting jobs, because they don’t know
how to market themselves. Whoever sell it in a right way gets the opportunity. I personally say, technical
skills are now taken by software, now the most required are soft skills. 19
