SMEC’S PRIDE : STUDENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
TEAM UTTEJIT participated in the Static and Dynamic event
FORMULA IMPERIAL 2022 organized by ISIE India, and
secured second place in the points table under the Cost and
Business Plan, Stood 4th in the Design round of the
competition and won 3rd place overall.
MechnoVIT
TEAM ALBATROSS participated in the Regular Class Division of the 7th
SAE India Southern Section Aero Design Challenge 2022, held at
SRMIST, Kattankulathur, Chennai and secured 3rd position nationally in
the category of Best Technical Design Report. The team worked on the
mission statement to raise the maximum payload with minimum empty
weight, they built an aircraft capable of delivering boxed cargo using
short runways. Team Members involved during the events are

20BME0660, Pujan Chitaliya 20BME0356, Kanishk Hariya 20BME0134 MechnoVIT
and Om Lande 20BME0582.
PRANAV SHRIKANT JOSHI(19BME0495) got
selected for a fully funded research internship
in Canada under MITACS GRI from University
of Saskatchewan. Mr. Pranav will work with
Prof. JERZY SZPUNAR for a project entitled
“Role of texture of pipeline steels in optimizing
performance in hydrogen and corrosion

KATHAN JIGARBHAI BHAVSAR (19BMA0024) and JESSICA KARTHA
(20BME0082) attended the 7th edition of the Bengaluru Space Expo 2022 - An
International Conference and Exhibition at the Bengaluru International
Exhibition Centre and represented Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore as a
Delegate in the 3-Day Conference with the theme, “Nurturing the New Space in
India”.
The event was organized by the Confederation MechnoVIT
of Indian Industry (CII) in association with
lndian Space Research Organization (ISRO),
Indian National Space Promotion and
Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) and
NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).
