EDITORIAL

Welcome to the XIII edition of MechnoVIT. SMEC’s true voice to a larger

audience.

As always, student teams hold a special place in the activities of the School. Student

teams UTTEJIT, ALBATROSS, VIMAANAS and ROVERX have grown from strength to strength

with many students contributing to SMEC’s list of distinguished attainments.

PhD Scholars have proved their mettle too – Ms. Divya Laxmi was recognized with the

prestigious INSPIRE Fellowship awarded to a select few by the DST, GOI. Seven Scholars

were awarded PhD degrees.

A very noteworthy feat was accomplished by Mr. Aravindan. He walked for at least

35Kms everyday adding up to a staggering 1200Km – all this for the noble cause of blood
donation awareness. He was not only lauded by our Chancellor, but also was awarded the

Kalam World Record Medal.

Many faculty received notable International recognitions. Many National and

International Seminars/Workshops were organized successfully. Industrial visits were

arranged for the benefit of students. All of these activities made SMEC a melting pot of

innovation and creativity.
