SMEC’S PRIDE : STUDENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Team (Mech-7) of VIT have successfully designed, MechnoVIT
developed and manufactured an Electric Go-Cart
Vehicle Funded by the prestigious Royal Academy of
Engineering, UK & Loughborough University. The
vehicle was flagged off by our Chancellor, Dr. G.
Viswanathan, Vice President, Dr. Sekar Viswanathan,
Vice Chancellor, Dr. Rambabu Kodali, Pro Vice
Chancellor, Dr. S. Narayanan, Mr. Jaji Vijayaraman,
Director R&D, Valeo GEEDS India Pvt. Ltd, Chennai,
TIFAC Core Team along with various faculty and
staff members. MechnoVIT
Team Assailing Falcons participated in the SAE Aero
Design East 2022 competition in the Advanced Class
Category held in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. The team
secured the 1st position worldwide in Technical Design
Report and in Technical Presentation and a 3rd position
in overall.
Chinmay Kapruan (19BME0514) and his Team Rotor FPV secured the MechnoVIT
team was selected for stall exhibition at
Mahindra Tech University Summit Second Position in the FPV Racing
(29/4/22) and also participated in a Competition during the Annual
Business Elevator Pitch and Business plan Techno Cultural Fest -
competition. The team bagged 3rd position Takshashila organized by Chennai
for startup Swasthvritta Health Solutions Institute of Technology, Chennai.
and won a cash prize of INR 5000.
Atharva Wagh (18BMA0038), Amit Manthekar (18BME0597) and Adesh Chougule (18BME0801)
participated in a Design Hackathon at 2nd International Conference on Sports Engineering. The team
presented a design model for "Contest to design: Automated sanitization, dart, dust and debris removal for MechnoVIT
maintenance of various kinds of artificial Turf and synthetic sports surfaces” and were awarded prize money
of INR. 30,000.
Mr. Debdoot Ghosh (19BME0398 ) was invited by the French Ministry of
Armies and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)
to present his research at the 26th AIAA Aerodynamic Decelerator Systems
Technology Conference and Seminar (ADSTCS), Toulouse, France during
16-19 May 2022. The presentation was on “Design and Numerical
Investigation of a Hypersonic Waverider based Entry, Descent, and Landing
Architecture Assisted by Supersonic Retro-Propulsion”. Debdoot Ghosh MechnoVIT
carried out this research at the Space Transportation Systems Engineering
Laboratory (STSEL), Kyushu University, Japan. He was the finalists in the
Student Paper Competition and received a prize worth USD 1,250 from the
AIAA.
