Accomplishments

INTERNATIONAL
Dr. Siddharth Gumber [17PHI0002], who finished his Ph.D. at SMEC,
VIT Vellore under the guidance of Prof. S. Ghosh, has just been
appointed as a 'Mountain Climate Modeller' at the British Antarctic
Survey at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Inturu Srinivas (20PHD0548), a research scholar of SMEC, has been
awarded a CSIR SRF direct fellowship for two years in the category of
aeronautical, civil, mechanical, chemical, and metallurgical engineering
science (ENG-41).
Mr. Kumaravelu P (20PHD0543) was selected to participate in the Transformative
Leadership in STEMM (TLS) mentoring workshop. This event was organized by IIT Delhi,
during February 14-16, 2024. IIT Delhi financially supported the travel expenses and
hospitality during the workshop.
Ms. Divya Laxmi GS, a research scholar of SMEC, received the
"Best Poster Award" for her research titled, "Revolutionizing
Food Security: A Sustainable Approach through Novel Mixed
Mode Solar-Evacuated Tube Drying Technology" under 'Food
Security and Agriculture' at the IISF-Young Scientist Conference
(17-20 January 2024) in the India International Science Festival
(IISF). The event was jointly organised by the Ministry of Science
and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Department of
Space, and Department of Atomic Energy in collaboration with
Vijnana Bharati.
Mr. Aravindan M (20PHD0712) a research scholar of SMEC achieved a new world
record by walking 21 km per day for 123 consecutive days, from June 1, 2023, to
October 1, 2023.This initiative was undertaken to raise awareness about the
importance of avoiding drugs and has been officially recognized by Kalam World
Records and this is his second world record.
