FACULTY
Dr. Sathish G.P. (PI), Dr. R. Ramakrishnan (Co-PI) and Dr. Vasudevan R (Co-PI)
have been granted R&D Grant Award from Shri G. Kishan Reddy, the Honorable
Union Minister of Coal and Mines for the Ministry of Mines, Government of India
and Shri. Satish Chandra Dubey, Union Minister of state for Coal and Mines,
Govt. of India. This special ceremony took place on June 24, 2024, at the Scope
Convention Centre, Ministry of Mines in New Delhi. The AI project titled,
"DEXSTER - Deep Learning X-Ray, Spectral, and Spatial Feature Sorter for
Recycling of Non-Ferrous Metal Scraps," has been recognized by the Ministry of
Mines
Dr. D. Sakthivadievel has been elected a "Fellow of the Academy of Sciences" by the Academy
of Sciences in Chennai. The Academy was established to provide support and directives to the
Tamil Nadu State Government on technical and scientific affairs as and when requested.
Dr. M. Manikandan has been appointed as an “Associate Editor” for the Heliyon
Journal Materials Science with a focus on the Metals section for one year. The
journal’s impact factor is 4 and indexed in WOS and Scopus (Q1 Journal)
Dr. Thangaraja, got selected for the "BRICS Young Scientist" from BRICS Forum 2023 by
the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi. He participated young
scientists and innovators forum took place during 31/07/2023 to 03/08/2023 at
Gqeberah, Eastern Cape, South Africa
Dr. S.G. Ponnambalam has been appointed as an “Associate Editor” for the Flexible Services and Manufacturing Journal
for the period 2023-2026. The journal is indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) with an impact factor of 2.209
as per JCR year 2021
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi, has awarded Dr.
Sakthivadivel the "ISTE-Syed Sajid National Award" for his outstanding contributions to
the field of renewable energy.
The President of ISTE, Dr. Pratapsinh Kakasaheb Desai presented the award to Dr.
Sakthivadivel in the presence of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT & KISS University,
Bhubaneswar on June 22, 2024, at the KISS University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
