EDITORIAL
MechnoVIT Welcome to Issue of MechnoVIT
It was only a couple of months ago that MechnoVIT 10 appeared, and time flew by so that it was
time for a subsequent edition. We are very pleased to announce that we have trailblazers from
almost every MechnoVIT theme within a short span of time. MechnoVIT created quite a buzz
within the campus and outside. We believe it was read by 1000s of people worldwide.
Complimentary posts were received about its readability and getup of MechoVIT and the contents
featured garnered a lot of interest among alumni. And whilst all this was happening the campus
opened up and enthusiastic students flocked into the Dean’s office wanting to be a part of the next
MechnoVIT founder of Swasthvritta Health Solutions LLP for being recognized by Startup India under the
edition. Could we ask for more? It is this enthusiasm of the students that led us to showcase start-
up ventures in MechnoVIT . We are proud to feature Mr. Chinmay Kapruan (19BME0514), the
aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. MechnoVIT also features
an overseas alumni Ms. Prerna Chatterjee who graduated from Cornell University, and has
graciously participated in an interactive session which we feature here.
Apart from a rise in numbers of faculty and student publications, a huge fund of 1 crore and 42
lakhs was received by our Professors Dr. E. Porpatham, Dr. A. Senthil Kumar, Dr. S. Murugahvel
and Dr. G. Nataraj. During this quarter, Professors B. Ashok, C. Kannan, T. Vijaykumar received
international funding from the Royal Academy of Engineering, U.K. as well as from the Indo-
MechnoVIT holders are Dr. Bibhuti Bhusan Sahoo, Dr. Sakthivadivel, Dr. Praveen Kumar, and Dr. K. Balaji.
German Science and Technology Centre by Professor M. Manikanadan. The other National Grant
Four consultancy projects received by our professors with a total grant of Rs. 3,75,000.
Dr. M. Nageswara Rao was recognized as ‘a member of THERMEC2023 Executive Scientific

International Conference on Processing and Manufacture of Advanced
Materials organized by TU Wien, Austria. Dr. Padmanabhan K was also made a Fellow of the
Chennai Academy of Sciences. Dr. M. Ganapathi was recognised as 12th best Mechanical and
Aerospace Engineering Scientists in India by Research.com
Dr. Arun Tom Mathew and other colleagues were granted a patent entitled ‘Educational Toy for
MechnoVIT Built Environment’. A LaTeX workshop by Dr. Subashini was a great success.
Teaching Basic Malayalam’.. An Indo-Canadian Virtual workshop was also organized bearing the
theme ‘Advanced Engineering measures for Controlling Air-borne Disease Transmission in the
The alumni corner features a doctoral researcher from the prestigious Max-Planck Institute in
Germany. Mr. Vitesh Shah was glowing in his praise for VIT and was proud to mention that SMEC
introduced him the field of Materials Science. In the Tech chat section, we are proud to feature
Mrs. Swati Pennapareddy who broke the glass ceiling to be product owner at Boeing India Pvt. Ltd.
We wish that MechoVIT grows from strength to strength with each passing quarter. Do give us
