                TECH CHAT WITH DIRECTOR - VIT ALUMNI AFFAIRS



      I am pleased to meet you all (our students) through this newsletter and present about
      the activities going on in the Office of Alumni Affairs and the VIT Alumni Association
      (VITAA).

      The Office of Alumni Affairs serves as a liaison between the
      University and its alumni trying to bridge the gap, involving in

      building relationships, guiding alumni during their needs with
      the help of their peers, initiating ways to improve alumni
      engagement (non-financial & financial) with the university,                                           MechnoVIT
      career development of alumni, assisting and supporting alumni
      through lateral hiring, etc.,

      The VITAA is a registered trust with its headquarters in              Dr. Elizabeth Rufus
      the VIT Vellore campus. It has over 1 Lakh members               Director – Alumni Affairs,  VIT
      spread over the globe.

      The association has 56 chapters (20 domestic and 36 international). The members in the
      chapters regularly meet and involve themselves in organising various activities among
      themselves. They also spare their quality time to serve the society near to them. VITAA Day
      is a gala event conducted each year on the 26th of January. On this day, distinguished                MechnoVIT
      alumni awards are given to the most successful alumni of our institute based on their
      significant contributions and achievements in academics & research, corporate career,
      entrepreneurship, social development, young alumni achiever.

      Chancellors’     special    awards      are     also    given     to    deserving     alumni
      (https://www.vitaa.org/page/Distinguished-Alumni-Award-Winners.dz). Our alumni are
      also     featured     on      the    VIT      social    media      pages      every     week
      (https://www.vitaa.org/page/Alumni-Spotlight.dz). VITAA is supported by the office of
      alumni affairs and all its activities are focussed for the mutual benefit of the alumni and the
      university. VITAA supports financially the needy and the deserving students in VIT each
      year through the scheme called VITians for VITians (V4V). Alumni have donated for this
      financial   assistance   to   students    through    the   Wall   of   Fame    Scheme     too         MechnoVIT

      I had the joy of sharing this information to you, the future alumni of VIT. I wish to convey
      that we view you our students as a lifelong commitment which does not end at your
      graduation. We seek your lifelong engagement with your ALMA Mater.
