OUTREACH ACTIVITIES BY FACULTY

Dr. Padmanabhan Krishnan delivered an insightful
expert talk on "Design and Product Development
with Advanced Composite Materials" held in
Ramaiah Technology Campus, Peenya, Bangalore on
6th June 2024. He also delivered a talk on “Ultra
lighting using Advanced Composite Materials” in
the SAE Aero Conference at HAL, Bengaluru, on
June 07, 2024.

Dr. N. Govindha Rasu participated in 2nd International conference on Fluid,
Thermal and Energy Systems (ICFTES’24) and served as Session chair during
the conference.

Dr. Deepakkumar R delivered a guest Lecture titled “Thermal Management of Electronic Components” organized
by Department of Mechanical Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, India, on
April 26, 2024. He also delivered a guest Lecture titled “Fluid Flow Analysis and Turbulence Models” organized by
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Anna University , Chennai, India, on April 27, 2024.

RECOGNITIONS

Dr. R. Ramakrishnan and Dr. GP Sathish have been granted R&D Grant
Award from Shri G. Kishan Reddy, the Honorable Union Minister of Coal
and Mines for the Ministry of Mines, Government of India and Shri.
Satish Chandra Dubey, Union Minister of state for Coal and Mines, Govt. of
India. This special ceremony took place on June 24, 2024, at the Scope
Convention Centre, Ministry of Mines in New Delhi. The AI project titled,
"DEXSTER - Deep Learning X-Ray, Spectral, and Spatial Feature Sorter for
Recycling of Non-Ferrous Metal Scraps," has been recognized by the
Ministry of Mines

Dr. D. Sakthivadievel has been elected a "Fellow of the Academy of Sciences"
by the Academy of Sciences in Chennai. The Academy was established to
provide support and directives to the Tamil Nadu State Government on
technical and scientific affairs as and when requested.

Dr. M. Manikandan, has been appointed as an Associate Editor, Heliyon
Material Science – Elsevier Publisher for a period April to June 2024
