OUTREACH - INTERNATIONAL VISITS BY FACULTY

The Dean of SMEC, Dr. K. Devendranath Ramkumar, the
Head of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering
Dr. C. Pandivelan and Prof. T.C. Kanish visited UCL, UK
from 04-06-2024 to 10-06-2024 as a part of the project
granted by the British Council under the “Going Global
Partnership - Industry-Academia Collaborative Grant
2023-24”

Dr. K. Devendranath Ramkumar, the Dean of SMEC and the HoD of
Manufacturing Engineering, Dr. C. Pandivelan also visited the University of
Derby, UK on 21/06/2024. They had a meeting with Prof. Kathryn Mitchell, the
Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of University of Derby. The Pro-Vost,
Pro-Vice Chancellor, Asst. Pro-Vost and Head of the Schools were also in the
meeting.

As part of the British Council Going Global Partnerships
Industry Academia Collaborative Grant 2023-24, Dr.
Satheesh A, Dr. Saboor S, and Dr. Natrajan M, embarked
on a significant visit to University College London (UCL),
UK from April 04-14, 2024. They also visited Siemens
Energy and had interactions for further collaborations.

The faculty members of SMEC Dr. Vasudevan R, Dr. Denis Ashok S, Dr, Bibin
John, Dr. Ashok B, Dr. Sreeja Sadasivan, Dr. Satyajit Gosh visited Mapúa
University, Manila, Philippines during March 31st 2024 and April 04, 2024.
The visit was as a part of the proposal “Skill Enhancement in Additive
Manufacturing and Challenges Involved in Occupational Health and Safety:
Transport, Energy, and Healthcare Applications," funded by the Royal
Academy of Engineering - UK

Dr. Saboor was invited to give a keynote lecture on "Energy Saving Potential
of Sustainable and Smart Building Materials towards Net Zero Energy
Buildings" at the International Conference on Energy and Sustainability
(https://ices.asu.edu.om/) hosted by A'Sharqiyah University in Ibra,
Sultanate of Oman from April 22-23, 2024."

Dr. Saboor, S. visited the Linga Lab in the Department of Chemical and
Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore as a
Visiting Researcher/Scientist under the VIT-International Research Fund
Scheme (VIN) from May 7, 2024, to June 4, 2024."
