INDUSTRIAL PARTNERSHIP - SMART MOBILITY

Bridging the Gap: Volvo Group India Pvt. Ltd. and Vellore Institute of
Technology Join Forces to Shape Automotive Engineers of the Future

Volvo Group and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) have initiated a groundbreaking partnership
aimed at revolutionizing automotive engineering education. This innovative collaboration
introduces a specialized credit course within VIT's MTech Smart Mobility program, tailored to equip
students with cutting-edge automotive industry technologies and practical skills. Imagine the
possibilities as students gain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, best practices,
and real-world challenges. The MoU was inked on 28/03/2024 in the presence of our founder &
Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan, beloved Vice-Presidents Mr. Sankar Viswanathan and Dr. G.V.
        Selvam.
At the heart of this initiative lies the commitment to knowledge sharing. The program offers unique

opportunities for combined classes involving Volvo's technical experts alongside VIT's esteemed
faculty. This dynamic exchange promises to enrich learning experiences and prepare students for
the demands of a rapidly evolving industry landscape.
Mr. Kamal Bali, President and MD of Volvo Group India, rightly emphasizes, "An ecosystem
transformation requires collaboration across stakeholders, and this includes collaboration with
academia." Together, we are nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and shaping the leaders of
        tomorrow.
What's more, students enrolled in the M.Tech Smart Mobility program will have the chance to intern
at Volvo, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and potentially securing positions as post-
graduate engineering trainees. These internships serve as a gateway for students to apply their
theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, jump starting their careers in the dynamic
automotive sector. This partnership represents more than just an academic endeavor—it's a
catalyst for change, bridging the gap between theory and practice. By harnessing the collective
expertise of VIT's faculty and Volvo's seasoned professionals, we are paving the way for the next
        generation of automotive leaders.
The School of Mechanical Engineering and Career Development Centre take immense pride in
bringing the association of VOLVO to the Institute.
