INAUGURATION OF
LABORATORIES
Dr. G. Viswanathan, our Hon'ble Chancellor inaugurated
the Ideation & Design Thinking Lab and the “renovated”
Computer Aided Manufacturing Lab under the School of
Mechanical Engineering (SMEC), on January 10, 2024.
The ideation and design thinking lab fosters the
students to ideate and turn them into finished things
using both automation and a tactile approach. The lab
is equipped with WACOM Cintiq Pro Displays, Design for
Manufacturing and Assembly software, and a
craftsmanship zone designed for the NASSCOM-
recommended course "Product Design Engineering."
The Computer-Aided Manufacturing Lab, which was
recently renovated comprises of high configured
computer systems equipped with 3D Experience,
COMSOL, Rhino and other software used for digital
manufacturing.
