Our TBI received an appreciation certificate from Technology Development Board on
28th January’11 in a meeting held in New Delhi. This is to acknowledge the
successful implementation of the seed fund support scheme in our TBI
Awards and Recognitions received by Incubatee firms:
Thinkcore Technologies received the Top 20 SME award from infoDev, the World
Bank Group during May 2011. This was under the Access to Markets and Finance
(A2MF) program of infoDev and the award will facilitate him to reach out to markets
in abroad and also to raise finance for growth. He is also receiving a grant of USD
10000 for meeting out expenses in this front.
Mobile Veda received Best Tamil Software award from the Govt.of Tamil Nadu
during January ’11 and the award carried a cash prize of Rs.1 Lakh and a citation. Mr.
Ganesh Ram, CEO of the company received Young Creative Entrepreneur Award
from British Council, this year.
Thinkcore Technologies received the ISBA ’12 under the graduated incubate category
from Indian Science Parks and Business Incubators Association (ISBA) during the
annual conference held in Pune during 17-19

Mr. A.Balachandran, General Manager attended the infoDev (World Bank Group)
supported ‘Train the Trainers’ workshop organized by Asia Pacific Incubation
Network (PSG STEP) at Ooty from 31

October to 4

November’11. After a
screening process, he has been selected for
certification as a Master Trainer on
Business Incubation
. A communication to this effect was received from infoDev
during December’11.
Xcode Lifesciences, an incubatee firm of VITTBI received ISBA’13 award under the
promising ventures category. Dr. Saleem Mohammed, Co Founder of the company
received the award from Mr. Neeraj Sharma, Advisor-NSTEDB, DST, Govt.of India
and Mr.H.K.Mittal, Secretary-Technology Development Board and Advisor & Head-
NSTEDB, DST, Govt.of India during the award ceremony held during ISBA’13
conference on 8

February’13 held in Bhubaneswar. The company went on to bag
three more awards / recognitions during the last two months. The details are given
under:
1).Biospectrum Asia, Singapore’s ‘Emerging Company of the year award
2). MIT Technology Review’s TR-35 award on 24

3).Nominated from India by Asia Pacific Incubators Network (APIN) to contest in the
‘Asian Entrepreneurship Award’13 to be held in Tokyo during May’13.
Expansion of Rapid Prototyping Facility
In order to cater to the emerging requirements (multiple materials, bigger build sizes,
material properties equivalent to that of injection moulded parts), VITTBI expanded
the Rapid Prototyping with a FDM Titan model Stratasys make equipment and the
investment was Rs.52 Lakhs. This would augment the capacity of our facility and
would help to increase the customer base and revenue.
