Microprocessor Lab:
The lab has 8085, 8086 microprocessor and 8051 micro controller training kits. The
lab work focuses on basic programming in 8086 microprocessor such as 8 and 16 bit
arithmetic operations, ALP for parity check, finding length of string etc. and on
interfacing techniques such as stepper motor interface using 8086 microprocessor,
data converters, and key board interface. Microcontroller programming includes
generation of firing pulses for inverters and rectifiers, implementation of PID
controller in a system. Kiel development tools for the 8051 Microcontroller
Architecture support every level of software developer from the professional
applications engineer to the student just learning about embedded software
development.
IC Design Lab:
IC design lab has 15 licenses of Synopsis EDA tools package and 65 licenses of
Cadence EDA tools package.
In the ASIC lab, students have to perform RTL synthesis, timing analysis, automated
layout, DRC, LVS check and post layout synthesis to check about the parasitic on
their desired specification using Cadence EDA tools
Altera and Xilinx FPGA Development Kits.
Nanotechnology Lab:
The Nanotechnology Laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art Nano-metrology,
Nano-manipulation and characterization facilities.
These include advanced atomic force (AFM) microscope, scanning tunneling
microscope (STM), scanning probe microscope (SPM) with many advanced features
for understanding and characterization of Nano-metric structures, building and
characterizing specialized devices.
The advanced optical microscope helps observe Nano-metric structures and conduct
defect analysis and Electrochemical Workstation. A new wet Chemical Synthesis Lab
has been constructed, housing 5-digit accuracy weighing balance, high-speed
centrifuge, Rota evaporator, spin-coater, Fume-Hood, Chemical work-bench, Distill
water plant, thin film metal evaporation and CVD facility under this project.
A Class 1000 Clean Room is in place with provisions for a Lithographic facility and
semiconductor parameter analyzer (under process) also to be housed.
IC Lab:
The lab is equipped with 12 Zealtech Workbenches worth Rs 21,00,00 with each workbench
consisting of function generator, CRO, power supply, digital ammeters & voltmeters, analog
ammeters & voltmeters.
DSP & DIP Lab:
DSP lab is equipped with state of the art facilities such as Texas TMS 320C6713 DSP
processors, ADSP 2186 processors and CC Studio Programming interface environment, Real
time DIP facility with CCD camera and high sampling rate grabber, DM 642 multimedia
DSP processor and Matlab 7.6 R 2008.
