Optical Communication Lab:
Optical Communication laboratory is well equipped with He-Ne lasers, semiconductor lasers,
LED’s and APD’s to study the loss mechanism in optical fibers, determine coupling losses,
Optical Time Domain Relflectometry test set up to find faults in the optical links and to
establish FSO links. High configuration computers with high-end software like OPTSim
4.5version, COMSOL are available to design, analyze and evaluate the performance of
optical links, WDM systems, OCDMA, dispersion compensation techniques, and optical
amplifiers. Thus, students get a deep insight on the emerging technologies in optical
communication and networks.
Embedded System Lab:
The Embedded Systems lab supports teaching and research in embedded systems. As
embedded systems evolve, design issues become increasingly complex, and previously rigid
boundaries between hardware and software components become more fluid. Presently,
Embedded System Laboratory Equipped with multiple ARM 9 based microcontroller
development platforms, Reconfigurable I/O FPGA200K gates, IEEE 1149.1 JTAG based
functional verification unit for IP core verification and validation, DSP black fin Processor
BF537, Low power wireless motes, Data communication learning equipment, Real world
interfacing modules and 8051 microcontroller development boards.
Digital Design Lab:
Lab is fully furnished and updated to perform the Digital and Electronics lab experiments as
well as projects based on the Tektronix Beta version for our B. Tech. students. More than that
we have highly digitized equipments like Pulse and Signal Generator for generating the
continuous, digital and discrete pulses, and oscilloscope from Tektronix. MultiSim Software
will be more helpful for the student project in case of doing the layout for the PCB making.
