and educational outreach. The vision of this project is to make higher
education possible for all irrespective of their socio-economic strata and to
be part of nation building. It is predicted that in 2021, bulk of the
population in India will be in the age group of 20 – 35 years, thus making
India as the youngest nation in the world and it is characterized as
“Demographic Dividend”. In order to reap the benefits of demographic
opportunity, it is significant to enhance the enrolment ratio by access to
higher education for all, make them skilled human resources to accelerate
growth of our nation. It will also improve the economic growth, contribute
greatly for a knowledge-based society and ensure active participation for
the nation building.
Agri Related Projects
The NABARD has sanctioned to form 100 Joint Liability Groups and 50
Farmers Club in Jawadhu Hills, Tiruvannamalai District. The following
activities are carried out under this project:
Facilitated 26 Farmers Clubs
Established 55 Joint Liability Groups
Credit Linked with Indian Bank, Jamunamarathur for Rs. 28,50,000
Formed Tree Growers Association in Pallikonda
GV School Development Project
The visionary Chancellor of VIT believes that rural children and young
students have immense potential, but due to lack of opportunity, these
buds are not blooming. The GV School Development Programme is
trying to bridge this gap by providing opportunity through value-based
education programme and by motivating rural students by carrying out
the following:

Equipping the school infrastructure and furniture,
•
Training the teachers in effective teaching methodology and
•
Conducting career guidance programme for the students
Student Chapters
Student volunteers are engaged in taking remedial classes, particularly
in spoken English, for those who hail from linguistically diverse
backgrounds. These remedial sessions are offered at the university and its
adopted schools. Students are encouraged to find solutions to existing rural
problems through student chapters like
