3.7 Collaboration
3.7.1 How has the university’s collaboration with other agencies impacted
the visibility, identity and diversity of activities on campus? To what
extent has the university benefitted academically and financially because
of collaborations?
Different schools of the University have potential collaborators – both in
academic as well as in research, at different levels. With respect to academics,
the expert opinion from other institutions, universities and industries is taken
into account during the Board of Studies meeting. The linkages have provided
sufficient arena for the introduction of new undergraduate and postgraduate
programmes in emerging disciplines of Engineering and Technology; twinning
programmes with industries and other Universities. The research output has
also shown a positive impact because of these interactions.
3.7.2 Mention specific examples of how these linkages promote
* Curriculum development: The faculty from other reputed institutions and
industries are invited as external members for the Board of Studies.
* Internship: It is compulsory for the B.Tech students to undertake a six week
internship in the industry or in a few cases in a institute of repute.
* Faculty exchange and development: The linkages have enabled to organize
more workshops / guest lectures / conferences so as to enable the development
of the faculty members
