students, the following activities contributes to the holistic development and
improved student learning, as these constitute the participatory learning
activities.
The different student societies in the University conduct several activities,
especially relating to creativity thinking apart from the routine workshops and
guest lectures. Such participatory events foster team spirit, encourage
organizational abilities, enhance management skills and help exhibit students’
self-management.
The students are also motivated to learn the crux of the subject by experiential
learning. The implementation of project based learning and research based
learning helps the students to engage in higher learning. In addition, the
conduct of seminars and presentations in majority of the courses help the
students not only to learn the subjects but also helps improve their presentation
skills. Poster exhibition is also conducted in a few courses (eg. Ethics and
values), so that the not only learn additional features in a subject, but also help
other students (who have not taken the course) to enhance their knowledge in
the area specified.

What are the technologies and facilities such as virtual
laboratories, e-learning, open educational resources and mobile education
used by the faculty for effective teaching?
Every faculty member is given an individual laptop with wi-fi
connection for appropriate execution of the academic as well as research
activities. This enables the faculty to prepare their own course material. Video
lectures such as from NPTEL, MIT Open courseware and from other sources
can also be downloaded by the faculty. As the campus is wi-fi enabled, the
faculty can access internet even during the class hours. This facilitates
effective teaching. Moreover, the use of modules like MOODLE is also
practised for conducting quiz and for assignment submission.
