What steps has the university taken to orient traditional
classrooms into 24x7 learning places?
Apart from traditional classroom learning the students can register for courses
offered in Project Based Learning mode. However all the Master’s
programmes are under the Research Based Learning mode. This helps the
students in experiential learning. Also since the teaching material is available
online and since the entire campus is wi-fi enabled, the students can have
access to information round the clock. Also, the availability of Internet
facility helps the students gain access to information, not only from within the
University but also from elsewhere.

Is there a provision for the services of counsellors / mentors/
advisors for each class or group of students for academic, personal and
psycho-social guidance? If yes, give details of the process and the number
of students who have benefitted.
There are different levels of guidance given by the faculty to the students.
Proctors, faculty advisors and counselors guide and counsel the students with
academic and personal issues.
Proctor:
Every faculty is been assigned about fifteen students. The proctor
system helps the students overcome the psychological barriers, especially
when they enter as freshers to the University. The proctor continuously
monitors the progress of the student and also offers suggestion and advice to
the student as and when it is needed. The proctor is normally in contact with
the parents of the students. The proctor, also to some extent, help in academic
matters of the students. The students are required to meet their proctor atleast
once a fortnight. The following are some of the specific responsibilities of a
proctor.
Giving information concerning career opportunities and availability
of educational / instructional resources
Helping students cope with any difficulties in learning
Solving personal problems, if any
Providing help to improve interpersonal relationships
Serving as a bridge between parents and the teachers
Faculty advisor:
The students could approach the faculty advisors to plan
their academics, so that they could can the designated courses within the
stipulated time. The students normally meet their faculty advisor at the
beginning or end of a semester.
Counsellors:
Psychological counseling is also available within the campus.
For this purpose, the following qualified, full time counselors are employed by
the University.
