A hangar is a closed facility used to house spacecraft or airplanes. Concrete, wood, or metal are
used to build hangars. Hangar made of steel Structures can accommodate a large range of door
systems.
Hangars are used to maintain, repair, manufacture, assemble, and store aircraft as well as to
shield them from the elements and harsh sunlight.

Aircraft hangars can be constructed to almost any specification; however, the type of hangar that
is most suited to the application will depend heavily on factors such as size and intended use.
Small aircraft are most suited for a standard type I portal hangar up to 30 meters wide, but as
wingspans, tail heights, and occupancy grow, alternative hangar types will become more useful
and economical.
Structure design consideration:
In situations where the depth is small (less than one-third of the width) and the span is wide (up
to 150 meters), spine truss hangars may be cost-effective. Columns inside the hangar or door
provide frame economies, but they severely limit the flexibility of use. Compared to a 75-meter
hangar that would still require a 100-meter apron with doors and outriggers, this is far better for
you. Lifting fabric doors are advised when the door opening must be full width and there is no
room for an outrigger.
By definition, tension fabric buildings are made of a sturdy fabric membrane attached to a rigid
frame.
