                            retail  stores,  and  leisure  facilities  is  vital  for  the  habitability  and

                            durability of a constructed environment. Selecting a location near these
                            services  minimizes  commuting  distances,  fosters  community

                     3.2   Site location



                     Goa is a state located on the western coast of
                     India, along the Arabian Sea. It is part of the
                     Konkan region and is bordered by the Indian
                     states  of  Maharashtra  to  the  north  and
                     Karnataka to the south and east. The capital
                     city  of Goa  is Panaji,  and  Vasco  da  Gama  is
                     another  major  city.  Goa  is  known  for  its

                     beautiful  beaches,  rich  history,  vibrant
                     culture, and a mix of Indian and Portuguese
                     influences. It is a popular tourist destination,
                     attracting visitors from around the world.







                       I.   Historical Significance:
                            Colonial Influence - Goa's history is marked by Portuguese colonial rule,
                            lasting for over four centuries until 1961. This influence is evident in
                            the  architecture,  cuisine,  and  religious  practices,  creating  a  unique
                            cultural blend.


                      II.   Art and Music:
                            Cultural  Expressions  -  Goa  has  a  vibrant  arts  and  music  scene.
