CERAMIC CRAFT:
Ceramics are often formed by shaping
combinations of clay, earthy materials, powders,
and water into desired shapes. After being molded,
the pottery is baked in a high-temperature oven
called as a kiln. Glazes, which are ornamental,
waterproof, paint-like substances, are frequently
applied to ceramic surfaces.
Tools and raw materials.
➢ Clay is the major material utilized during the manufacturing
process. It is sourced from the surrounding area
➢ Sharp tools: Motif designs and decorations on clay idols are
made with sharp-edged tools like knives and iron blades.
➢ Turning Wheel: The turning wheel, also known as the Potter's
wheel, is the primary tool for turning pots, bowls, cups, and
glasses.
➢ A kiln is a thermally isolated chamber, similar to an oven, that
generates high enough temperatures to finish a process such as
hardening, drying, or chemical reactions.
➢ Glazing is one of the most popular and simple decoration
techniques. Glaze is a liquid, similar to paint, that gives ceramics
a smooth, glassy appearance.
