Boids or swarm behavior can be used to create an outer shell structure that can be 3d printed
using automated swarm bots. This can be altered as per the needs and respond to the context
of the moon’s environment. Applying swarm intelligence or boids algorithms to the
construction of lunar structures offers a groundbreaking approach to building efficient and
resilient habitats on the Moon. By harnessing the collective behavior of individual agents or
robotic units within the swarm, these algorithms can coordinate complex construction tasks,

such as material transportation, assembly, and fabrication, in a decentralized and adaptive
manner. This distributed construction approach enables rapid deployment of modular
components and adaptive structures, tailored to the specific needs and challenges of lunar
environment. Additionally, swarm-based construction methods can optimize resource
utilization, minimize waste, and reduce the dependency on traditional heavy machinery and
human labor, making it a cost-effective and sustainable solution for building on the Moon.
Swarm behavior – Boids is applied to an obtained form to find various patterns and density of
the structure. And the change in factors for each iteration being the starting point of the
behavior, adhere to the center of the flock, repulse from the flock and adhere to the flock
members.
