deck was just slightly taller than a person's height. Spending extended periods in such a
confined space can lead to feelings of claustrophobia, particularly during longer space
missions.

astronauts a clear sense of up and down, aligning both themselves and the room in the same
orientation. They found the lower deck uncomfortable but viewed the upper deck as a
gymnasium.
